Rescue Dogs For Adoption gives its location as "Varna, Bulgaria & United Kingdom". According to its about page, its dogs "are in small foster home rescues in Bulgaria NOT living in public shelters", and it says its centre "has been rehoming dogs for the last 16 years in Bulgaria", with most adoptions going to homes in the UK and Europe.
We couldn't find a charity number on the rescue's website, and found no matching entry on the Charity Commission's register for England and Wales (checked 19 October 2026). Not every rescue group is a registered charity, so ask the rescue directly about its status if it matters to you.
The fee and what it covers
The rescue's own pages give two figures:
- The adoption process page says: "Most adoption fees are 650 U.K Pounds - this covers passport, chip, vaccinations, castration/spey (if old enough) and most of it goes to the transportation and delivery to you."
- The about page says: "Our U.K. adoption fee starts at £700, depending on the dog. This fee covers all veterinary costs, documentation, customs fees, and transportation to the U.K."
Because the two pages differ, we show the range of £650 to £700 and tag it "Pages differ". Please ask the rescue which figure applies to the dog you're interested in.
The about page also says: "For larger dogs, an additional fee may apply to cover the cost of a double crate, which is required by Welfare Standards in both the U.K. and Bulgaria." No amount is stated.
On health checks, the about page says the rescue provides "blood testing for all of our dogs", checking "for tick-borne diseases, heartworm and optional a Canine Brucellosis blood check". No deposit or refund terms are published on the pages we read.
How the process works
The rescue's adoption process page describes three steps:
- Contact the rescue for "a free informal chat" by WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or phone. It says it "can put you in contact with past adopters".
- "Arrange a live video meeting with your dog". The page adds: "we consider ALL applicants including families with children."
- The dog is prepared for arrival: "We book the dog a cabin on the 'Happy Bus' a U.K DEFRA approved transport and all U.K official entry paperwork is prepared." It says the passport, vaccines and blood tests are completed before travel.
The page refers to a "seen a dog you like" form at the bottom of the page. It doesn't state whether a home check is carried out.
Who they rehome to
The pages we read don't state a policy on homes with cats or without a garden, and the only statement on children is the one quoted above. Ask the rescue about your own circumstances.
Transport
The rescue's pet transport page lists "NEXT DEPARTURE - 13th March 2026" and describes transport to "new homes across the UK and Europe". It doesn't publish a regular schedule, a separate transport price or the UK regions covered.
After you adopt
The adoption process page says: "We continue to support you when your dog arrives." The about page says the rescue provides "lifetime support and rescue backup".

Collecting your dog: what the rules say
Rescue dogs come into Great Britain under commercial import rules. The government's Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) says a commercially imported dog must be delivered to the address on its import paperwork, not collected from a public place such as a car park or service station, and must then stay at that address for at least 48 hours. Whichever rescue you adopt from, ask where and how your dog will be handed over before the day.
