Saving Souls Animal Rescue is a UK registered charity (no. 1209645, registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales in August 2024) that describes itself as "rescuing dogs in need in Cyprus and rehoming to the UK". It says it takes "the time to match the right home for the right dog".
The fee and what it covers
The rescue's adoption policy page lists these fees:
- £720 for an adult dog flying from Cyprus
- £670 for a puppy flying from Cyprus
- £470 for an adult dog or puppy already in the UK
The rescue notes that fees "do vary based on the cost of the Brucellosis Canis blood test costs to each shelter".
The fee includes vaccinations (distemper, parvovirus, rabies and DHPP); neutering for adults (puppies too young to be neutered come with a neutering contract); full blood tests for adult dogs (Brucellosis Canis, heartworm, Ehrlichia, Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis and Leishmaniasis); microchipping, with the dog registered in your name on arrival; a pet passport; and "flight and courier" if travelling from Cyprus.
Who they rehome to
- Garden: the general requirement is a secure garden with 6 foot high fencing, but the rescue says people without these may be considered, for example with dogs on a long line in the garden.
- Cats: each dog is assessed individually; "some may be able to be re-homed with cats, some may not".
- Children: some dogs "may only be able to be re-homed with older children due to their size". No specific age is given.
Home check and timescales
The rescue says a home check will be arranged using a volunteer home-checking service, and that this "does take a good few days". It does not say whether checks are virtual or in person. Many dogs are still in Cyprus and fly over; adopters collect their dog from an agreed collection point. The rescue says the process can take roughly a month to complete the home check and book the next available flight.
After you adopt
The rescue says: "We are always on hand for a chat to discuss any questions or queries you may have", and that there is "full UK rescue back up should it be required". Adopters are also invited to join a private Facebook group to share updates and photos.
